VMCC Autojumble Shepton Mallet

The autojumble at Shepton Mallet showground is something that I look forward to every year. This year it's approx a month later than usual and the October one won't be happening, which is a shame.
Anyway, here's a few pics of some of the 'barn fnds' on sale. I'm sure that there would have been plenty of mutterings along the lines of  "I had one of them and sold it for £10 in 1968" etc etc

The Dead South

We went to see The Dead South at the Anson rooms in Bristol last night and a great live band they are, although the sound seemed a little muffled  - maybe the difference between a empty room / daytime soundcheck and the mixing desks being two thirds of the distance away from the stage. The sound certainly seemed to improve when a number of people left before they came back on stage for the encore

Fibreglass seat unit.............the making of

My local friend,Martin, likes to make as many parts for his projects as possible having a small but organised workshop in his garden containing a large Milling machine (A few years back I had a long day out with him, going to Sussex to pick it up which also involved part dismantling of the rather sizeable piece of machinery) and industrial lathe. A few years back he also started making his own fibreglass parts for his BMW Special to achieve the look that he wanted. Anyway,a few months back he produced a seat unit for, what will be, his 'ride to work' bike.  Here's few pics to give a brief glimpse into the process

Quadrophenia

A friend somehow dug this old photo up - from the film Quadrophenia - and I'd never seen this pic before in approx 40 years. I don't even remember it being taken, but I'm the one in the background with a Harrington jacket, striped shirt and tie. Living in Brighton at the time I had one day as a 'extra' and paid a fortune too - £10 for 7am until 7.30pm. I am actually visible in the film very very briefly in the beach fight scene too.

Aldous Harding

I generally watch 'Later with Jools Holland' but somehow missed this one back in early 2017. Some friends were over last night though and mentioned her and I'm really liking what I've seen of this and a few other tracks so I can see a new cd purchase very soon.

Moto Guzzi V7 Sport..........................Already SOLD!

A old friend who I'd not seen for many years asked if I'd go and take a look at his V7 Sport that he was thinking of selling. He wanted a opinion as to whether to get it up and running / light restoration. I called in after leaving my workshop on Friday afternoon and already he'd had a call about it,that morning, via his advert on Gumtree - I'd actually seen it on there a day or so beforehand. My suggestion was that if you have somebody willing to give you close to £9,500 for it, as it is, then "why bother doing anything to it"
It looks very original to me and he'd bought it approx 5 years ago from a elderly neighbour who has since passed away. The neighbour had imported it back in the early 80's apparently.
The bike had been covered in a grease
so the alloy etc is in pretty good condition
